The City of Hobsons Bay is situated on Port Phillip Bay, some 10 kilometres west of central Melbourne. It covers an area of approximately 66 square kilometres and includes the suburbs of Altona, Altona North, Altona Meadows, Brooklyn (part), Laverton, Seabrook, Newport, Seaholme, South Kingsville, Spotswood and Williamstown. Hobsons Bay has over 20 kilometres of bay frontage, quality residential areas and a range of major industrial complexes that contribute significantly to the economy of Victoria. These features contribute to a culture that is strongly linked to the City's maritime heritage, industry and lifestyle. |

Council's Maternal and Child Health Service is a family-centred, primary health service, with a strong focus on promotion, prevention, early detection and intervention to improve health and developmental outcomes for young children and their families. The service is available to all families within the municipality who have children between birth to school entry age. |

Council's Public Health Unit offers a professional and reliable immunisation service that aims to achieve maximum municipal immunisation rates and which is accessible and friendly. Council has 17 day sessions per month which are held in Maternal and Child Health Centres within the municipality and one night session per month held alternatively at the Williamstown Town Hall Supper Room and the Altona Senior Citizens Centre. |
