Background

Werribee Community Centre was established in 1974 with the assistance of local, State and Federal government funds. The Centre has been a leader in Adult Education ever since. Werribee Community Centre offers a range of programs and services that include: accredited courses and training packages up to Certificate IV level and non accredited or pre-accredited courses. Programs are individually tailored in areas such as Business Administration, Children’s Services, Employment skills, the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and other alternative education for young people as well as English Language and Literacy and Numeracy training. Werribee Community Centre provides programs for individuals from a broad cross section of the community with a strong emphasis on the disadvantaged, youth and new and emerging communities.

Finance

The Werribee Community centre operates as a Neighbourhood House and a private RTO. It has excellent financial and business systems and policies in place.

Werribee Community Centre has a long and proud history of providing quality, individually tailored programs and services based on principles of best practice in adult education and a commitment to lifelong learning. Continuous improvement underpins all Centre operations.

Human Resources

Werribee Community Centre employs 6 full time and 7 part time staff. In addition, it employs around 40 others who are specialists in their fields to teach and deliver training. All employees bring a range of expertise and skill to the organisation and to users of the organisation.

Other Resources

The full range of training and training resources is available at our premises including two networked computer rooms with Internet access.

Scope of Registration

As a registered Training Organisation (RTO), we can add and delete accredited courses and Training Packages to our Scope of Registration in order to meet the needs of our local community.

Service Delivery

Werribee Community Centre operates primarily from premises at 4 Synnot Street but also uses 106 Duncans Road, the Youth Resource Centre and other venues for the delivery of training.
We have a long history of forming partnerships and networking with schools, community groups, service providers, business and Government agencies.

Customer Focus

We believe that our customer focused structure and attention to tailored training and individual needs, perfectly places the organisation to deliver adult learning and community strengthening activities. We provide a venue and support for a number of community based groups.

Insurance

The Centre carries a Comprehensive Insurance policy which also covers public liability to the value of $20 million.
