Maribyrnong Community Centre is a Council managed service that along with Maidstone and Braybrook Community Centres form the Community Centres Network. All facilities offer programs for community activity and are available for hire for functions, meetings, conferences and other community events. Some programs on offer include English as a Second language and literacy classes, picture framing, French Polishing, Art classes, Yoga, Tai Chi, Ballroom and Latin dancing lessons, Line Dancing, Children’s Creative Dance and Adventure Playgroup for preschool aged children. Maribyrnong and Braybrook have parent run playgroups, Maidstone has a free Toy Library service for local residents; and both Maidstone and Braybrook boast a Community Garden with a wood fired oven; which gives local residents an opportunity to share in growing and accessing fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs by participating in the community life of the garden. Maidstone holds a Community Kitchen activity on the third Tuesday of the month; and is the venue for a men’s cooking program facilitated by Western Region Health Centre. Maribyrnong Community Centre offers Occasional Child Care on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 9:30am and 12:30pm which provides families with quality child care in a warm, nurturing environment cared for by qualified early childhood professionals. Braybrook Community Centre offers Occasional Child Care on Thursday and Friday afternoons between 1:00pm and 3:30pm
