Laverton Community Centre & Neighbourhood House Inc. is located in the suburb of Laverton, within the Hobsons Bay municipality. It was established in 1974 by local residents, and is governed by a Board of Management made up of community representatives. 

The Centre operates on a service model offering a range of complimentary programs including education, childcare, emergency relief, financial & family counseling & various ethno-specific & self help groups.  We receive funding from a range of Federal & State Government Departments and local Government to support the variety of programs we run.

Education programs range from accredited English as a Second Language & Literacy courses & national training packages including Hospitality & Business Services to computer courses to short courses with nationally recognized certificates such as Foodhandling, Responsible Service of Alcohol as well as  a wide range of personal development, hobby & craft programs such as Yoga, Pilates, Calligraphy & Floral Art.

In addition to these programs, the Centre also offers financial & family counseling by appointment, emergency relief to residents within the Laverton area, a low cost Community Café providing three course meals on Wednesdays and a Childrens Centre which provides Long Day & Alternative care, Kindergarten & other Childrens services.
